HOW TO Retrofit genuine rear parking sensors to MK8 Fiesta 2017-

Featured Replies

Hi. My son has a MK8 Fiesta which i want to add these rear parking sensors. There are plenty of sensors with the loom on ebay. Is there any detail on the brackets that hold the sensors into the bumper?

I bought these, the flat ones go into the middle and the angled ones go on the outer edge.

I'll grab a photo so you can see how good/ bad they are.

If you want them flush mounted you'll need these instead but you will need to buy a plastic melting iron (or bond them in) and a flush mount parking sensor cutter from Amazon.

As you can see they look the dogs danglys but expensive to retrofit, I added 4 to mine for the auto parking mod.

And this is regular Ali express type.

Still looks great.

Thanks. Looks good!! I couldnt work out that aliexpress site. You can get a set in black but they only do the 'rear right' in blue??

All mine came black and I had to paint them, I bought the set not individually. Ford also sells a simmilar set but all 4 are angled and didn't look like they were going to be any good for the centre bits so I sent them back for a refund.

Oh I also forgot to say I think I had to Dremel some of the inside of the holders to make the sensors fit so it's not quite as straight forward. But 20 mins or so to take the inner ridges off and your good to clip in.

Thank you!!

Did you retrofit front sensors onto your car too? Is there a plug socket somewhere hidden away at the front just like there is on the back?

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry only just seen your question.

No there is no wiring plug, what I did was order another rear loom that included the connectors (alot of sellers just cut it off) then I bought simmilar coloured wiring and made my own loom, fed it from front under headlight area, under the battery basically following the main loom and pushed it through the rubber bulkhead bung, down the passenger side, then across the rear and into the parking box, when I bought the parking sensors box I made sure I got one that included both plugs.

If you do the same as me you will need to make sure you reverse the wiring on the plug as the sensors will read from LEFT to RIGHT instead of the Right to left but it's easy to do as you can check in forscan and move the wires around until front right is front left, middle right is middle left etc etc..

If you connect it wrong it shows the wrong way round on the screen.
