2008 mondeo estate boot issue!

Featured Replies

So quick briefing Ive recently brought a 2008 mondeo estate 2.0 tdci zetec.

I brought the car knowing the boot doesn't open at a good price hoping I can fix myself.

First thing I've done is gone straight to the fuse for the boot which very lucky for me it was blown I've changed the fues and boot works fine when to use it the next day and the fuse had blown again, I've replaced the fuce again but same thing next day gone again so there obviously something drawing way to much power through and blowing the fuse every time.

Does anyone know what is causing this and can help with some ideas where to go next many thanks.

Be interesting to find out when the fuse actually blew, it might give you an indication of what’s doing it . Like if it pops every time you open the boot , there must be an issue with the electrical parts of the opening mechanism I would have thought .
