2008 Mondeo side and tail lights not working correctly

Hi, just had my car MOT & service. Passed MOT. They then fitted new battery and replaced back indicator bulbs (due to fading and one was wrong voltage) and replaced blown reverse bulb. Now side and tail lights keep turning off or not coming on at all. They were aware of a problem with my lights when they gave me the car back....

I have removed the two brake bulbs which I know I have replaced in the past with bulbs from halfords and the problem goes away. The halfords bulbs have worked fine for years... could it be the fact I have a new battery fitted that the cars BCM is now finding a fault with my halfords bulbs?

Any advice would be greatfully received.
