where are my pipes?

Featured Replies

i've had the car now for nearly a year and there's never been ay air coming from the side vents so today i decided to do something about it

well, actually i decided to fix the broken vent and then see if there was a simple fix for not getting any air out of them

when i removed the cover, to my surprise i found this

No photo description available.

as you can see, there's no actual pipe attached to the vent, had a rummage around behind the dash and nothing

same story on the other side

the car did have the dash replaced due to the airbags going off so i'm assuming they simply forgot to put them back in again

but what are they called and where can i get replacements from please?

thanks

Hi Dojj, there is nothing missing its just not assembled.

This looks like the same set-up as the centre vents on the Mk4 Focus, and if that is the case (Ford do like to use the same ideas over and over) then:-

The back of the vent in your picture with the flap on it, fits inside of the air duct with the grey foam around the edge. I just can't work out how the two parts are so far apart and not lined up with each other. I would love to be able to tell you how to put it back together but its very difficult to see from the photo.
