Is it supposed to be loose

Front screen valance or scuttle whatever its called is full of cr*p leaves twigs etc even under it as in the pics is it supposed to be loose or sealed down ?

it supposed to be sealed down mines loose. must look at it some time

The design for the leafscreen/scuttle panel on the mk2/2.5 isn’t great. It clips into a carrier that’s attached to the bottom of the windscreen but the carrier can come away so the panel appears loose or it comes away as you try and press the panel to secure into the carrier. 

I replaced the carrier on mine but still wasn’t great. Got a feeling mines bonded on with some PU now which makes it a lot more secure

I think there's a guide along the top of the scuttle that slips under the screen to hold it tight as well.  Seem to remember it being a pain to get back in perfectly after removal...but that might have been on a different car. :unsure:
