it supposed to be sealed down mines loose. must look at it some time

The design for the leafscreen/scuttle panel on the mk2/2.5 isn’t great. It clips into a carrier that’s attached to the bottom of the windscreen but the carrier can come away so the panel appears loose or it comes away as you try and press the panel to secure into the carrier.

I replaced the carrier on mine but still wasn’t great. Got a feeling mines bonded on with some PU now which makes it a lot more secure

Cheers for the replies guys, will investigate, or hoover it out, clean it and pump some silicone sealer in

I think there's a guide along the top of the scuttle that slips under the screen to hold it tight as well.  Seem to remember it being a pain to get back in perfectly after removal...but that might have been on a different car.

Cheers Tom as i said will investigate once the sun and rain "do one" LOL
