INTERCOOLER COOLING SITUATION

Good evening to everyone!!!!

Here in Greece summer remains extremely hot with fires everywhere around the country!!!

I would like to ask a question about my radiator fan in relationship with the intercooler.

Is the intercooler of the 2020/MK4 FOCUS ECOBLUE (1,5LT/120HP/ZTDA ENGINE) liquid cooled?

I am asking it because two or three pipes pass through an aluminum box that is probably the intercooler of the turbo.

The radiator fan runs with no mercy all the time especially when the outside temp reached for a several days 45 Celcium (113o F). I wait sometimes for the fan to turn off several of minutes in idle, but it does not stop.

Is it correct to wait about 5 minutes with the engine idle for the fan to turn off ? (but it does not. The engine's temp never rises up above the normal by the way).

After i turn the engine off and look under the bonnet, i sometimes see the coolant to the first little box near the intercooler ''boiling'' (as a matter of speech).

It is my first summer with my new FOCUS diesel and the first time in general having a diesel driving at summertime.

When am i going to be careful with the engine temps?

What is the Achilles heel (weak spot) of the ZTDA engine?

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Have a nice summer all of you!!!
