Keyless Entry triggers alarm when opening the door

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm new to forums so please bare with me on this.

So my 67-Plate Titanium X has decided recently that although it's happy to unlock the doors with the keyfree every fob, it's not happy for me to actually open them and sometimes triggers the alarm, which I then have to find the key for to disable. This basically means I've got my fob ready to disable the alarm when approaching the car making keyfree entry pointless (it's one of my favourite features).

My best guess is that it's a fob battery issue but I thought I'd ask here since I don't know too much about cars, I've been driving for less than 2 years and this is only my second car. As you can imagine, park assist comes in handy for me considering this car is much bigger than my 06 Corsa C. But that's besides the point.

I've also got other annoying problems with the car that I'll post about too.

It's a 1.5 Ecoboost Petrol Manual 6-Speed.

Any help is appreciated, on or off-topic!

Sam

I have a 19 plate Tit X Auto.

Sometimes, the alarm goes off AFTER locking the car (keyless) - it was only when wife was driving to start with, then it did it for me!

I got a notification on the dash about a year ago about the key battery getting low, so changed both.

No message this time, but I have changed batteries in both fobs, and so far, no more issues.

Battery is easy to change, the instructions in the handbook are clear.

I've changed the battery, hopefully it'll sort it! Thanks
