Interior lighting wiring

Featured Replies

Hi, sorry to bother you guys again. I bought the kit from autobeam to allow me to fit some footwell lights but, i am unsure where to splice it into the car wiring. I would like to splice it into the same circuit as the courtesy lights please.

Should be quite a simple task if all you want to do is connect up with the courtsey lights.

The wiring for the courtsey light comes down the passenger side windscreen post and makes its way to the BCM/Fusebox behind the glovebox.

You have a couple of options. First take the trim off the windscreen post and splice in to the wire at that point. If you drop the exsisting light out of the roof you will find it has 3 wires. A ground normally brown), a constant live and a circuit which comes on when the door is open. You just need to identify the door wire circuit so you know what colour wire you need to find in the harness that runs down the windscreen post and splice in to that.

Other option is use a piggy back fuse holder and identify the courtsey light fuse in the fusebox behind the glovebox and plug in to that.
