Hi

So if I understand correctly, on the 2017 Focus Titanium X, the sensors that are by the rear view mirror allow for:

Lane Assist, Active City Stop, Automatic Highbeam, Automatic Wipers, Road Sign Recognition and other lighting changes (ie sidelights / sync 3 dark mode).

I'm wondering if other features like Lane Centering (or making lane assist 'stronger'), Adaptive Cruise Control (or similar as mine is a manual transmission), blind spot warnings in side mirrors, and other ford lighting technology (such as the infrared hazard-spotting spotlighting feature I've heard of) could be retrofitted and then / or 'activated' on the car's computer. I'm also aware that some features depend on parts such as headlight assemblies (ie my car requires the Xenon Adaptive Lighting housings instead of the standard halogen assemblies should I ever need replacements) which I'd be willing to look into too. Perhaps a feature is only available on models from another region but surely parts from it could be fitted onto a car from our region?

I hope this is making sense, I basically wanna add factory add-on features to a car that doesn't / can't usually have them and don't mind importing parts and/or fiddling with the car's computer. For example, editing values to allow the lane assist to act much more prominently with keeping in the centre of a lane.

All while keeping it reversible, of course 😅

If anyone knows of other functional modifications, please do share 😎

What features do you currently have?

Everything is do-able but you have to bear in mind that Ford never give away connectors, so you'll have to overlay most of the circuits you want to add.

You won't be able to update to any system fitted to the MK4 that was not available on MK3

It's a Focus Titanium X (67) 1.5l Ecoboost Petrol Manual and has the lighting package upgrade, along with the rest that comes standard for the trim level:

Lane assist, advanced park assist, hill start assist, road sign recognition, auto headlamps, auto wipers, active city stop, heated front and rear windscreen and washer jets, Xenon headlamps (I've retrofitted LEDs) with adaptive lighting, RGB Ambient lighting, SYNC 3 Sony 10-speaker system, keyfree entry and keyless engine start, cruise control (standard set-speed type), speed limiter (don't know why you'd want to use this and not just use cruise control) and probably others that I've forgot.

I've also done some research and learned I can activate things like climate control relaying to the sync screen from the physical buttons and climate voice commands with FORscan, so I'll be having a play with that when my adapter arrives.

Thanks for your help, too!

Yes, just ensure you make a back up of any module you make changes in beforehand
