when using usb a buffering symbol appears and sometimes it just reverts back to radio. Other times keeps buffering until the song finishes and then corrects itself. See attached video I have a 19 plate focus mk4 

Have you tried using a different USB pen ? It sounds like the USB pen is too slow.

I did think that but had to swap cars with my son for a week who also has a focus and it caused me no problems at all so it seemed to rule out that theory 

Most people find it easier to swap the USB pen rather than the whole car 🤣

I would still try a diffrent USB pen in your car. Diffrent cars have different versions of software and can often have odd querks !

🤣🤣 was just I was going to Scotland for a week and eml light came on and ford can't look at it till next week so better to be safe than sorry but yeah  will try my sons in it see if it makes a difference.
