Ford Focus ST Line X - 2020 Brake Steering Problems Part 2

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I posted this topic 3 months ago about vibration coming from the pedal and steering that was vague, I have took the car to Ford three times and they have said that there isn't anything wrong with the car and it drives perfectly with no issues.

Maybe it's my imagination but the vibration is still there especially when decreasing from speed when you get to a roundabout for example, also the steering does not feel right to me (But to be fair this is my first Focus)

I am still convinced that discs are warped but they have said they are fine, is there anybody out there in the Peterborough area with the same car as mine who could drive mine and give me their honest opinion based on their experiences with their own car? Or can anybody recommend anybody who specialises in brakes in the same area, I am struggling to find anybody...

Thanks in advance...

The steering on the new Focus is as you described it, I personally don't like it as it feels too electronic with no real feedback.

As for the brakes your car will be fitted with an electronic servo (usually these are vacuum operated and use hydraulic fluid, now it's done off of sensors) it is possible it's just the case of not being used to the feel of it and can "pulsate" a little bit, in theory you shouldn't get any feedback from the pedal as it's not technically attached to anything if that's makes sense?

I work for TC Harrisons in Peterborough as their master technician, if you want to come in and ask for me directly I'll come out and have a look with you. If you have been to my dealer before I'm not aware of your car or issue so apologies if that is the case.

Hi Luke,

Many thanks for replying and giving me the additional information, maybe it is the pulsating as you described but I'm just not sure to be honest and the same for the steering.

Thank you for the generous offer to have a look, I am off next week so could pop over (I'm in Stamford) and if you could have come out with me maybe you can set my mind at ease.

I'm away for a day or two but not sure what days just yet, is there any day or time you would like me to avoid? I took the car to Stamford and not Peterborough so you wouldn't have seen it.

Thank you....Scott.

Ahh might be why I haven't seen it, I'm in everyday apart from the weekends 8-5 so it's up to you really 👍
