erictcleric
Unless you've got a weird custom plate carrier fitted, standard plates should fit fine.

SDHXIII
I think the 3D/4D plates become illigal soon, September 2021, there will be a new British Standard, plus there is legislation going through Parliament to make number plate offences 3 points instead of just the £100.00 fine. I would save your money (in more ways than one) and leave it standard. Stu...

As long as your numberplate complies with the current British Standard (and has that BS number printed onto the plate) at the time of production, it is road legal regardless of future iterations. The only thing the new British Standard specially excludes is the use of carbon fibre effect/3d fonts etc. It's pretty much the case that a copper will look at the plate, see that there is the company name/ID and the BS number in small letters at the bottom meaning there's a 99% chance it's road legal. The company making the plates will risk a huge fine if they're producing illegal plates with their name and BS number on. That's why show plates exist, they have none of that information on.
