Chugging at partial throttle

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This is my first time using a forum at all so i'm excited and nervous.

I've owned my beloved 2009 focus since November 2020 and I love her. She's given my wallet a slight bashing but most work done to the car has been myself. It has 175'000Miles on it and the most recent issue I've had with the car is in 1st/2nd gear at very partial throttle, the car chugs and chugs until i begin to accelerate and then the chugging stops. So this mainly happens in car parks where i can accelerate but still need that little of throttle. The diesel filter has roughly 12Kmiles on it and the last service only has 5K miles on it. The car is driven well and i do a good job of Cleaning out my DPF as I don't drive this car slow. I will admit that i do run the car down to empty sometimes (3 or 4 times since diesel filter was replaced)

Any tips on where i should look to solve this issue?

Thanks
