Featured Replies

2010 1.6tdci titanium ..I had a message pop up ' power steering malfunction' and my steering went heavy ..I turned off and restarted message had gone and steering back to normal , I done a short errand and had no issues, could someone advise on this please , I have no fault codes or DTC logged ..anything that needs doing I will have to do myself so if there are any how to videos available I would appreciate it ..many thanks

It depends on whether you have an electric powered steering rack. I had one of the early ones on my mk3 2011 focus and there are several threads on here discussing them. It could just be a low battery caused it or it could be a sign the rack is starting to develop issues. If it is electric once they fail totally it is a whole new steering rack required. There are no serviceable parts you can replace.
