Waze

I’m downloading Waze just now. I deleted it previously, I had some kind of audio issue (which I can’t even remember what!) was advised to delete Waze. Seemed to fix it but I’m not 100% it was Waze causing the issue. What’s the consensus on Waze thru sync 3.4 ? Seems like a handy app that I really want to use.

Works a treat, can be glitchy sometimes. Especially finding GPS.

I just uninstall and reinstall and it goes OK and, luckily, doesn't forget your settings.

I don't use any other Nav app now.

Can't get it to work reliably on my 2019 Fiesta ST-Line, tried with 2 different phones, reinstalled etc...

Works ok for about half an hour then just locks up or loses the GPS signal.

Google maps works fine but I'd prefer to use Waze if I could.

It’s clever tech for sure. I understand it using gps to work out where heavy traffic is . I’m reading users can tell the app about accidents etc..how tf does that work ? How is it compared to Ford navigation live Traffic? I’m due to start having to pay for live traffic next month , it’s fairly accurate but Ford nav itself can be all over the place especially in the city.

It knows where each Waze user is because the app sends data back to the Waze server, so it can spot congestion by comparing the expected time to travel a section of road with the actual time taken. If the app notices that your speed slows in an unexpected place then it pops up a question asking you why. You can report potholes, policemen, abandoned cars etc by pressing a few buttons on the screen. It works well for finding fast routes through cities but I find it a bit to keen to take me down little back roads on long journeys to save a few seconds. You do get some pop up adverts when stationary but the disappear as soon as you start to move.

I am happy to use it in town/city but prefer Google maps on long journeys as Google tends to stick to main roads more often.

The traffic on Waze and Google maps are both better than the Ford nav in my opinion.
