Petrol gauge and digital reading

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

My focus cuts off when filling petrol up never used to do this.  Now I have to fill it up slowly and I can fill it. Now when I jump back in car the gauge and miles to go reading on digital display don't move immediately.  The gauge will starting moving after 5-10 mins.

Yesterday when filled up gauge didn't move for good 5-10 mins and digital miles to go reading stayed the same,  as soon as I opened the filler cap after short 3 mile trip back the reading's went back to showing the correct amount.

What u guys think

Thank you

Maybe a blockage somehow in the fuel tank vent system could be causing back pressure when you're filling up as the air in the tank can't escape quickly enough.

Similar if opening the filler cap has an effect on how the gauge is reading.
