Ive bought a new steering wheel as mines pealing, it's happens to be a heated wheel as my original one isn't. 

The chap is also offering me the switch and slip ring with the stalks on it. Am I likely to have the required wiring present, or could someone point me in the direction of what I'm looking for so I can look. Cars a MK3.5 st3.

Without knowing anything else, I'd definitely take the switch and slip ring that go with the wheel, simply because it sounds like they're a set and should be kept together. Someone with more knowledge than me would likely need to know the model, year, trim/features of your focus to give a solid answer.

If you don't take the extras and find out down the line you could have done with them then you'll kick yourself and might struggle to find them again. That would be my thinking anyway 👍

Anything can be 'done', but it's not straightforward, needing much work and reprogramming. This may be of interest. There's another thread with a full conversion but due to the frustrating 'search' facility of this forum, I can't find it LOL

 

I have fitted a few if these into the ST3 and its all plug and play you will find to extra plugs for the slip ring and module wrapped up in grey foam in the wiring that goes to the housing , just plug them in and add the switch to the console .
