After the last few posts regarding cluster repairs on automatics, i've decided to bite the bullet educate myself and prepare to have a bash [ really how much damage can i do ] HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Have downloaded FORscan to my win 10 lappy, looking for recommendations for the lead, not extortionately expensive as this is a toe in the water job. I will reread the replies and source whatever else i need.

Thanks for any dumbed down assists i get.

Blimey, that FTDI chip really is fast!

I have two tunnelrat readers. I bought the one with the cable and used it with my laptop and free forscan. But then I thought I ought to keep the equipment in the car so I then bought the WiFi one and keep it in glovebox and have forscan on iPhone, I think the app was about six quid.  I have never needed it out on the road yet but occasionally go hundreds of miles from home for a week so if it went into limp mode whilst away it could be handy. I might never need it, it’s a bit like insurance.
