Assisted boot fault

Featured Replies

Hi

My boot only opens about half a metre then won't open or close unless I force it shut is this a common problem.

You need to reset as per electric windows.

You will have to research how to do it, I don't want to give you wrong advice, but I believe you manually open the tailgate fully, then press and hold the close button (on the tailgate) for 10 seconds.

It's not a fault, it's a safety feature.

If you opened the tailgate inside your garage or in a multi-story car park with reduced headroom you would only want it to open part way. By stoping the tailgate whilst it is opening by getting hold of it or by pressing the open/close button on the keyfob the tailgate will remember this position as the maximum it should open each time.

As Dave has said you just need to reset it. It's a while since I had a Kuga but I think the instructions to reset are correct.

I’ve never had to do it on my Kuga, but the advice by @DaveT70 is what I had to do on my Edge.
