Hi guys, hopefully someone here can help me out, my 2013 tdci zetec has just broke the timing belt at around 50 mph, my question  is,,, is this engine interference or non interference? And how can i tell? Thanks in advance

    I'm assuming you mean 1.6 tdci? That is an interference engine.

    the real question you want an answer to but don't want to ask the question is "is my engine scrap?"

    and the answer I know you don't want to hear is sadly 'yes'. The damage will be major and just not cost effective to try and repair.

    I think all modern engines are interference engines, I doubt if there have been any non-interference engines in last 20-30 years but I might be wrong.
