2005 Focus - Alarm going off

Hello, I bought a 2005 ford focus recently and have realised that the alarm is intermittently going off. This is happening usually around 3-4 seconds after a door has been opened. There is a beeping noise almost as a warning and then the full alarm goes off. Likewise, if I open the bonnet (with the separate key for the bonnet)...alarm goes off. Any idea what this likely is caused by please and potential costs to fix it?

    Are you unlocking the door with the key or the fob?

    I know my alarm goes off when I open the bonnet whilst the car is still locked.
