Sync-phone help needed please

Featured Replies

I've had no problems with using my phone with sync since I've had the car.. It's a 14 plate navigator with sync 1.

I accidentally deleted my phone from the car, then after adding it again it's playing up.

I press the button and say "Call XXX".

It says "Calling XXX"

It shows the calling screen on the dash but no calling sound.

If I look at my phone then that is ringing the intended number.

Once the person answers the"privacy" button lights up so they can't hear me and I can't hear them.

If I hit "end call" then the screen stays the same instead of actually ending the call.

If I keep hitting the"privacy" button then eventually the voice starts coming through and all works fine after.

Any ideas/fixes?

Thank you in advance.

Well I'm trying to update Sync as a clutch at straws type fix. I've downloaded the update from Ford but when I try to put it into a usb I'm getting an message saying unexpected error and it stops.

Is there anywhere else I can get this update from?

It's driving me mad now..I need my phone often in the car and have to use it hand held and keep having the Privacy button until it decided to switch over to car.

I'm guessing as you have a 2014, you'll have sync 1.0. Afaik you can't update this through the USB port, you can only do that to sync 1.1.

Have you tried a master reset? Unplug the sync module for 30 mins or so.

No. How do I do that?

Yeah it's sync 1.

I put the vin number into the Ford site and it said to update it and went through how to do it but the file seems corrupted.

Thanks for replying.

Like I said above, unplug the module for 30 mins or so. It's located behind the stereo on the focus.
