Indicators,lights and wipers not working

Featured Replies

Hello guys ! Hope you’re well ! I am new here .
I have a Ford Focus cc 2009 , while i was driving suddenly i realize that indicators , lights and window wipers are not working and the button of rear window heater is it constantly on but in rest everything is working normaly , like hazards , electric windows etc. Any ideea ? Thanks !

Under the glovebox, above the passengers feet is a fuse box which hinges down and has lots of plugs going into it. Try unplugging and reconnecting them. Also water sometimes gets into this fuse box. Well, I say fuse box, but it’s much more than that, inside it is a circuit board with computer chips on it which controls loads of stuff.

Yes, I'm afraid you may have water damage to the BCM (fusebox under the glovebox) it controls all those items.

Remove the BCM (disconnect the battery) and disconnect each plug to see if there is any green fur on the terminals.

If there is you will need to source a good conditioned 2nd hand BCM and program it to your vehicle.

Also, any water damaged wires will need to be replaced too

I’ve been checked all the fuse on the bcm , remove it and put it back , still no response.

On my brothers focus the wipers stopped and I ended up rewiring them with a toggle switch on dash, like an old fashion car, single speed and not self parking. At least the car was usable like that.  We also thought indicators stopped working but found it was just the dash tell tales and the click sound that stopped, the indicators outside were still working, that was fixed by twiddling the connector plugs on fuse box, but the wiper problem seemed to be something more complex.

Hi,

How much water damage was there on the original BCM?

Did you ensure there was no water damage on the replacement BCM?

You may also have water damage to some of the wiring to and from the BCM, if water gets into the wires they corrode and stop the circuit.

You will need to check the wires circuits for the systems that have gone down to see if they are working, if they are not you will have to splice new wire in
