Hi all, quick question 

 

About 2 weeks ago I got a message on my Ford app that my engine oil was nearing it's life end, brought the car to my mechanic and he said no service needed for at least 10 months, started the car this afternoon and the change oil required light came on , I've seen differing opinions saying reset the error message and others saying to get the oil changed , car is a 1.5 diesel , only have it 4 months and was fully serviced before I picked it up 

 

Anyone ever had this and what should be done ?

There must be reason it's happening and clearing the code may result in it returning or they didn't clear it when they done the oil change.

To clear the IOLM

 

Step 1: Press and release the ‘SETUP’ button on the steering wheel until you see the oil life indicator on the dashboard information display

 

Step 2: Press and hold the ‘INFO/RESET’ button on the steering wheel for two seconds and release it. The oil life monitor will be reset to 100%.

 

Take it back to where you bought it because:

A: They didn't service it, so they need to

Or

B: They forgot to reset the oil life counter and need to

There is a ford update that fixes this issue on mk4 focus Year 2018-2019. Ask Ford if your car has this update. How many miles passed since service?
