Wind deflectors Mk4

Featured Replies

Trying to get the ClimAir wind deflectors to fit the front windows but when I try to close the window it automatically bounces back. Is there any way to stop this or turn off the bounce back feature? I've had the car into a Ford dealer to have a look but they have said the deflectors are too tight for the windows which is causing the windows to bounce back again. It's the Climair wind deflectors for the Mk4 Focus from the Ford online shop so surely they should fit.

Have you tried holding the button to override it?

You normally have to retrain them anyway and it can take a bit of bedding in to stop the bounce back.

Have you pushed them as far up into the window channel? Also, have you pushed the clips in to make a wide enough channel for the window to ride in? I bought the Heko ones for my MK4, the fronts were fine but I couldn't get the rears to fit well enough to allow the windows to close at all!

You have to remember that adding deflectors adds a slim bit of perspex into the window channel. Your car is acting entirely normal in thinking there is something 'stuck' in the window and the safety feature makes it bounce back. As already stated, re-training it to know there is nothing to worry about should cure it. Also, after some bedding in time, your window rubbers will accommodate the deflectors much better, but as already said as well, just double check that any clips used aren't out of place and exacerbating the issue.
