Focus MK2.5 fixed points issue

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

I'm really hoping someone can shed some light on this.

I've got a 2010 Focus MK2.5 Econetic and I'm trying to for my roof racks. I know all about the fixed points on fords and the fact you have to dig out all the mastic to reveal the points...however, this is where I've found a massive issue.

The points have been uncovered, however I haven't been met with a nice shiney screw like I did on my old Mondeo, instead it's like a horrible plastic lug with no crosshead or flat head to unscrew it. It's also properly stuck in there. I've had a go at removing one and resorted to drilling it out, only to make more of a mess than I wanted and snapping the drill piece in there just to top it all off!

Can any one help?

I'm seriously thinking ford have intentionally blocked them up as this is an 'Eco' car, so that you can't put racks on it.

Tell me it's not true! 😂
