Ford Focus st225 mk2 error code

Featured Replies

Hi does anyone know what would cause p0698 error code. I’ve changed a few sensors like cam shaft and fuel pressure rail sensors as these codes were showing. Car runs okay once started but I have to wipe the codes first else it will not start up plus sometimes I can be going down the road then it will lose power/cutout. This has started to happen since using the E10 fuel, I had no choose as only had 3miles left with no v power available.

Can’t remember the exact code I got in the past but was getting a fuse blowing for circuits like the VVT etc and it turned out the heater element in the oil recirc/diaphragm unit had failed causing a short to blow the fuse and take out several sensors etc all on the same circuit.

Try checking fuse 35 in the engine bay fuse box and if it’s gone unplug the 2 pin plug going to the front of the diaphragm unit then replace fuse and see if the fault clears. Could be a different fuse, but wiring diagram suggests F35. If you’ve a few spare fuses you could then plug the unit in again to prove it’s blowing the fuse
