Cold on the passenger side and hot on the driver side

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I have searched through the internet as much as possible, but can not find a solution.
My Mondeo Zetec Econetic Tdci 2015 has developed a heating issue, it's blowing cold on the passenger side and hot on the driver side even when set to HI, plus it's the same even when you change it to the windscreen, vents or feet. What I found on the net suggest some blend door actuator on the passenger side under the dash, but I can see 2, I am not sure which one it is? Can anyone recommend and point me in the right direction? Appreciated

OK, I have done the climate control reset, by the instruction provided, I have also unplugged the blend door actuator(in American) or heater flap motor (in the UK). But when unplugged, it just turns the heater blower motor off, my mechanic suggests that it can not be that actuator or the motor. I have changed the thermostat housing today, driver side heating is fine, but the passenger side is still cold.

If its the blend door as it was a crappy design wherby the seal bonds to the plastics. if you have thin arms you can get your hand in and force it open, my mech did it in my old mk2 when the flap stuck. other than that it means major surgery dash out etc.

Very strange, I have changed the thermostat, flushed the coolant and have even replaced the blend door motor but nothing much has changed apart from heating is a bit better, but still slow to get warm and still cold on passenger side.

Is the blend door not a manual operation on a 2015, hence my comment. Is there a Forscan check for it, as with most cars these days a degree in computer sciences is needed just to operate a flip switch. Whats google got to say on the subject.
