Hi I’m Ben newbie! And in need of advice

Featured Replies

Hello all,

just purchased my 2017 Focus estate 1.0 eco boost, I’ve noticed it hasn’t got a engine cover on it is this common? And also the bonnet sensor is faulty, says it’s open when it’s closed but resets after a start up. Much to repair this? And anything I should be looking into?
thanks in advance

Ben

Hi welcome

Welcome Ben, sounds like the engine cover has been misplaced at sometime🤦‍♂️

May be worth disconnecting the bonnet sensor and spraying it with some contact cleaner to see if that helps at all

Welcome Ben

TVM deleted the engine cover. Mine doesn't have one too

As mentioned, clean and lubricated bonnet catch to see if it starts working again, if not, then a new switch will be needed
