I have already done a post but no comments yet, I’m a mechanic an never seen this fault before an this is on my own car, the instrument cluster an sync an climate control all stop working an jus go off completely as if iv pushed the start button to turn the car off but the engine is still running an driving fine, i wud of thought If the instrument cluster dies the engine would cut out aswell but it doesn’t it still drives fine, but no electrics inside the car work atall, but the lights an wipers still work , all started when I set the speed limiter on the motorway after about 5 mins the cluster just died, if I turn off the car by pressing the button an turn it back on everything comes back on an works for about 5 seconds then it all goes off again, iv tested the battery an alternator an they are fine an iv scanned the. Eco for faults an no faults stored, my scanner is basic so I can’t access anything else apart from codes, read an delete an iv checked fuses they all seem fine

Most generic code scanners/readers will not show Ford specific DTC's.

If you use a laptop with FORScan software it is almost as good as having the real Ford dealer diagnostics.

Download FORScan (free): https://forscan.org/download.html

New style connecting lead 'vLinker FS': https://www.bmdiag.co.uk/forscan-diagnostic-cable-for-ford-vgate-vlinker-fs

No mechanic should be without it.

The OP hasn't been here/signed in since his original post on Feb 13th

I bet Jonro "stole him" over to his empire building site on FB, ha ha

Apologies, although I don't remember him even asking the question in the group. I'll go back and check in the log, as I can't actually remember his name 🙈

I just checked, he asked the question in the group and received a lot of replies. It was suggested it was the BCM at fault by someone who had a similar issue. He didn't report back on a fix or not and has since left the group.

Thanks for the help. If I find a solution, I will post it. XD

The cluster all works only the frost warning is on, the mid cluster is all off and already changed for a new one, also if everyting works forscan give no faults and if the fault is there forscan can not comunicate with the car

It was corrosion on the cables under the right seat than it seem you loose communication from the canbus and parts off the car are shut down
