Touch screen not working S-Max 2012

Hi. This is my first post. I have purchased a S-max Titanium X sport on a 2012 plate. It has the radio/navigation system I have attached in the photo  however the touch screen doesn’t appear to be working?? Unfortunately it wasn’t until I got home that I realised the problem. The garage I got it from is fine at the moment about it and I spoke to him this morning. I just wondered if anyone had experienced this and there was a quick fix before I take it up a specialist. Thanks I’m advance.

    Try doing a soft reset, hold power button and seek up button until screen restarts about 5 seconds

    Yes they are, but not very sensitive you have to put your finger on the screen firmly, not like a modern smart phone.
