Oil that comes direct from the ground is Crude oil if I'm not mistaken.

It then goes to a refinery to be processed and so on and so on  to be made into different qualities for different uses.

As for apples, only some are suitable for cider making whilst other varieties can make a cracking sparkling wine ( Crab apples).
