Headlight Wiring

Featured Replies

Hi. Struggling to Rewire a n/s headlight. Socket on original was ‘fried’ somehow. Replaced headlight and socket with partial loom.  reconnected 9 wires by colour - now left with x3 (negative?) wires. Connecting these together seems to cause all sorts of problems.

Any suggestions of what happens to these x3 thicker wires greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance electrical geniuses.

Well that was a waste of time! : (

Perhaps if you posted a few pictures of the wires, harness and type of headlight you have then we would be able to offer some advice.

What colour are these 3 wires you have 'left over' ?

The harness must not be the same as the original (otherwise you wouldn't have the extra wires) so it may not be a straight swap.

This might help.

Thanks.

Is this for a halogen set-up rather than xenon? Cheers.

It doesn't say.

Had another go at connecting everything - now the position light ‘flickers’ and the indicator is permanently on - front and back!! Is it possible to replace the whole headlight loom does anyone know? (I guess anything is possible for a price?)

You'd have to replace the whole engine bay loom I suspect. Diagram here

Is the new headlamp exactly the same as the old one? Is the wiring inside the same? Do they go to the same pins in the multiplug?
