P2002 Diesel Particulate Filter Efficiency Below Threshold B1 - Mondeo Mk4 2.0 TDCI

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have a Ford Mondeo Mk4 (2008) 2.0 TDCI. I keep getting the EML on the dash about 20 mins into each journey. My little OBD reader can clear it but it comes back again.

Since the light coming on we have done the following:

Replaced EGR (because it had failed)

Replaced Pressure Sensor Pipes

Cleaned Pressure Sensor

The other day the light cam back again and I called the AA to do a diagnostic. They found an open/closed circuit on the glow plugs. We inspected the wiring and found the wires were fine but the 60a fuse was blown. We replaced the fuse, and as expected it blew again. We replaced all 4 glow plugs, and cleaned the intake etc in the meantime, put it all back together and the fuse is fine and no longer blowing. The car seemed to run better for the 1.5 hours I had it running after the replacements, I also took it for a spin and it seemed like it was regenerating at one point, yet this morning on my way into work, the P2002 error has came back again!

I am thinking the pressure sensor is buggered, but I thought I would see if anyone else has any experience of replacing pretty much everything and still having the issue?

FYI, I drive 35 miles to work on motorway so it gets a good run.
