Hi I bought a mk4 1.6 ghia a couple of months ago after having a few mk3s and mk4s back in the day, it’s unrestored and never been welded or painted. Looking forward  to taking it to a few shows in the north of England this year. Rob

Thanks, yes remember an old mk1 I had and sold for £100 in the eighties, if only we knew then what we know now.

my first car was an 87 Escort 1.6 CVH. I did a deal with a scrapyard through work at the time to buybthenwhole interior from a ghia for £60 and fitted the lot, headlining and carpet and wired the electric windows. Oooo i thought i was doing it, shame the car was double the weight than new (welding wire and panels…..) loved it tho

Thanks, yes they were rot boxes like most cars back then, but even with my limited abilities very easy to fix mechanically.
