2.5t into powershift txs ecoboost

Featured Replies

Good morning,

Happy Owner of a 2007 tx 2.5t in standard bland form. However a friend of mine has a mk 4.5 txs ecoboost with powershift which I constantly drool over looks wise.

Unfortunately his ecoboost engine has gone ecoboom, and I could potentially take it off his hands as he has already purchased another car.

So my question is, could I transfer the engine of my 2.5t into the mk4.5 along with ecu etc, but retain the powershift box?

I doubt it's been done before as I've done a search.

If it is possible, id then look to remap and upgrade the engine parts to hopefully hit up to 350bhp.

Money is obviously a factor... I ain't got a ton load, but if it can be done at under say 4k it could be worth a go. An ecoboost 240 rpba block  is 2.5k reconditioned.

Thoughts appreciated
