Ok…..long awaited (I’m sure) conclusion to my tale…..

took the kids out to East Fortunes Museum of flight today, long journey from where I live (central Scotland) and a route I know well.

Long journey + familiar route = I finally stopped being a shitebag and used the Syn3 updater to go to Sync 3.4 & maps f11.

48 minutes to do both, which I was mighty impressed with, considering doing it officially normally takes an hour!

After updating, finally, oh finally it’s stopped telling me there’s an update usb plugged in (when there isn’t)..

now I’ve finally found my big boy pants, I’ve bought myself an ODB adapter and will (maybe) add individual tyre pressure displays (is that one thing it can display, if so, where does it display once programmed?), auto locking and perhaps find the option that changes it from a Mondeo to a Mustang…..

Anyway, as you were all on the edge of your seats regarding my Sync updating fun, I thought I’d let you all know!

I take it I now have to update the maps with the CyanLabs app rather than the official Ford way?  

 

In brief, yes, if you were originally on Sync 3.0 - product 19205 and had to use Cyanlabs app to update to 3.4, then yes, from now on you will have to use that route to update your maps. . .

As the Ford server will not know you have updated.
