Do you know where can I find the Plate Value for my Ford Mondeo Zetec (2010) ?

On Ford cars it is usually on the bottom right hand side of the VIN Sticker that is stuck to the Door Pillar.

If you Google it there must be an image somewhere.

Oh, number 15, bottom right

Goodness me, right on the corner of the label, it's a wonder that hasn't got damaged 🤣

Thanks for your reply.

I just did a long M25 drive with low gear to help sort out the emission . My MOT certificate expire tomm and do a 30 minute M25 drive in low gear agin..

However I won't be able to do a long drive on my Ford Mondeo before the Monday's MOT test (at anew centre) as my Insurance will be invalid if I drive anywhere apart from the MOT centre.

If the MOT fails again , I am unsure there would a straight answer apart from trail and error.

Is there anyway to be certain if the Emission is below 0.50 threshold without any advanced garage instrument ?

There is no way of testing it yourself.

A little tip for the future, it is best to book a MOT at a place that gives timed appointments so that the Engine is warm at the time of the test, especially for Diesel cars.

Some places want you to drop the car off and start the test later, allowing the car to warm up by Idling during the rest of the test and doing the emissions last. That is not as good as doing the test with an engine that has warmed up on the road.

Visually you can get some idea of the extent of the smoke by getting a person to rev the engine while you look at the exhaust.

I find that a wife is very handy for that task tho' I have to keep reminding her which pedal is the accelerator!

But drastic getting married to check emmisions. Hang on, you said a wife. So any wife in the vicinity . You should be the one in control of the accelerator and the wife should be sat facing the exhaust. If her face looks a bit sooty then a bit more investigation required.

Dear All,

Just wish to inform that my Ford node MOT passed today .

I just did a long drive in low gear before the MOT  and managed to get the emission passed ...

Interestingly , the new MOT test was in a recognised FORD dealer whereas previous one was in a high street franchise ...

I wish to thank you all for your generous advice and time on PlateValue, driving on low gear in Motorway and many more ..This helped me to  try out new things rather than selling the 12 year Mondeo at a cheap value ..

I appreciate your valuable time.

Have a good weekend.

Did you put anything on your car like Cataclean or just pure drive with 2.5k - 3k rpm?

If you're asking 'cos your mot is looming, then I'd recommend some pre-mot additive*, then drive it for the recommended min distance. Also better if the tank is a ¼ full or less. Also, a new air filter!

my first result on the emission was 2.90 and after I put the Cataclean and did the retest the result was 0.90 which makes a big difference but the passing is 0.60. I will certainly try that treatment and hopefully, I will pass my MOT.
