Intermittent hesitation under acceleration 1.0 litre Ecoboost

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Wife had a a 1litre ecoboost fiesta 2015 model (Mk7.5 I think). Last couple of days it has developed a hesitation when accelerating. When it happens it feels like a loss of power  (car judders but revs don’t drop).
Doesn’t happen all the time or all the way through the rev range.

Seems to only happen once engine is warmed up (ie not happening in first 10-15 mins when started from cold).
Also noticed it happens around 2-2.5k revs. Above 3k revs seems to be ok and below 2k revs seems to be ok.
And no engine warning light comes on either.

Any suggestions where to start?
Thanks

Start by downloading FORScan and getting a vLinker FS cable. Then you will be able to check for any Ford specific DTC's which will point you in the right direction.

FORScan: https://forscan.org/download.html

vLinker FS: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vgate-vLinker-Adapter-FORScan-MS-CAN/dp/B0952P4MLP/ref=asc_df_B0952P4MLP/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=534732308385&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14232738825407714359&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006688&hvtargid=pla-1430824679036&psc=1

Just replying to this as seem to be having the exact same issue and wondering if anyone, maybe the OP if they're still about, can shed some light on what might be the cause?

Best to start a new thread on this I think.

One can always live in hope, and they summarised my issue so much better than I did/could, but you're probably right.
