Mondeo MK Pump/injector issues

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, new here.

Im a proud owner of a 2002 mk3 mondeo, 2.0.TDCI engine with 130PS.

I was told injector 1 was leaking, so i went out and bought a remanufactured one, replaced the bad boy, programmed new trim codes, and while i was at it i thought i should clean the EGR and inlet manifold.

Let them soak overnight, got all the gunk out and put everything back together. Tried starting the engine, it sputtered for maybe a second and then died. Tried cranking it a few more times (maybe air in the fuel lines) but even when i let all the air out, the car wont start. (Diesel is flowing to the injectors, although when bleeding them, it seemed that the pressure was a bit low in the lines, usually when i bled them, id get diesel everywhere, now it was more of a light stream.

Anyway, hooked of Forscan and it threw these codes:

Im completely stumped as to what hapenned, tried cleaning connectors on the inejctors, connectors on the injector pump, swapped out some relays to see if it was a faulty relay but nothing helps.

Anyone had any simmiliar issues? Any help is appreciated.

The caris sitting at 230k Kilometers.

Cheers, Matt

Update;

Is it possible that i somehow yanked on a cable and disconnected/tore the connection to the crankshaft position sensor, so it's throwing all these codes?

Put the full screen up for EACH code

At work for the next 3 days, but i can post google descriptions.

P0190 - Fuel Rail pressure sensor Circuit malfunction

P1665 Injection Pump Control Module Communications malfunctions

P1664 Faulty Injection Pump Control Module

P0201 - P0204  - Injector 1-4 circuit malfunction

When i crank the engine i get no engine management lights, no flashing glowplug light, everything seems normal.

When i disconnect one injector connector, the glowplug light starts flashing.

I'm really baffled by the P1665 and P1664 DTCs since to my understanding, the Common Rail diesel doesn't even have a Fuel inection pump, rather than that a High Pressure pump and electronically controlled injectors.

Will try to post pictures on monday.

Thanks a lot.

As you mentioned, check for broken wires or partially connected connectors first on everywhere you were working

1stly, clear all the codes!

Then see which ones return.

Some you've listed could be historic.

If your egr valve is rear - mounted, then it is possible you inadvertently disturbed /broke a wire to crank sensor , which is situated  below the rear mounted egr. Later models have the egr at the front of the engine.
