How are you trying to make the mirrors fold /unfold ? Are you using the button on the inside of the drivers door ?

PS: Your profile needs updated 😉

Hi buddy, I don’t have this button on the door panel….I am trying to fold/unfold using the remote fob

If you don't have the button on the door panel then you don't have power fold mirrors. They were an option on your model and quite expensive.

Thanks mate, mis-led by the dealership there then. Never mind, not a huge deal…I can fold them manually.

If you felt REALLY strongly about it, you could return to the dealership and argue that you were mislead into the sale by their false description. Of course they'll argue it was a genuine error, but you may negotiate some compensation, ideally for them to retrofit them (a humongous & expensive job), or more realisticly, a free service sometime in the future...

It’s ok buddy, I can do with manual ones. It’s not a huge deal, just a handy extra.

While I am on this wing mirror post….as the wing mirrors are not auto dim, (even though the dealership told me they where). Any advice on whether to have them modified to autodim,(if appl’), or to apply some autodim /anti glare film, or spray…what would be the most practical/financially viable solution, bearing in mind I would be looking at as permanent as result as poss.🤔🤔

I think you need to seriously have a discussion with your dealer.

The door mirrors do not have an auto dim function on any UK/Euro Ford vehicles as far as I know. Your internal rear view mirror has most likely got the auto dim function.

  • Author

yes.. the interior rear view mirror is autodim and works fine....ford, have a look at adding this function to the wing mirrors of all your UK/EURO models, it is very neccessary/handy....i am gonna whatsapp the dealership now....do you know if these antiglare/fog/rainproof films are very effective?.

In over 40 years of driving, I have never had auto dim door mirrors, it's a wonder I'm still alive LOL

The tint films do work.  BUT, reduce visibility during daylight as well.  I had blue tinted mirrors on a Mk4 Golf which was always a bit weird in daylight.  Had auto-dim on a Vectra which was a better idea...and about the only thing I liked on that car.

its strange though Steve, that ford do not add this function. it makes driving a lot safer at night and when wet....if ford care about driver safety in there vehicles, they would autmatically add this feature as standard in all models....seems they dont care about driver safety...we have crumple-zones - air bags - roll bars etc, all the expensive stuff, but not a simple feature as this....the mind boggles.

Whatever gave you the impression that Ford care about Driver Safety??

  • Author

i guess i was just being "professional" with my comment.😆

All of the other safety features are more or less forced upon Ford whether they like it or not.  Ford didn’t include rear seat belts across the range until they were made to by law/regulations .  And the public wouldn’t all want to pay the extra cost involved.  I could argue that the quick clear windscreen adds to safety. Impatient drivers drive off in the morning barely being able to see ahead . Not all cars have that. How far do we need to go on safety features. If the car was advertised with features it doesn’t have and you can prove it eg you have copies of the webpages or whatever I would certainly be trying to get something out of them

Not just the engine that went boom in that case, though, unfortunately for the incinerated occupants!

Howdy chums…just thought I would personalise my kuga a bit, with some overlays..hope it meets with the clubs approval, it does mine.😁👍32CE4BBB-B4CD-4401-8162-F81015C26453.thumb.jpeg.e2b651297947c26c8206d47fbc6ac7ca.jpeg

Interesting that you chose to post this within a thread about faulty wing mirrors

i am a spontanious guy Stephen...😆

Don't think I've seen a Kuga in Tiger Eye before.  Really suits it!

Plus, you'll never lose it in the sea of monochrome in Tesco car park!

  • Author

cheers Tom...it was the colour that first got my attention, i call it burnt gold, but tiger eye sounds pretty cool.👍

What a load of old cobblers. I can count on the fingers of one pillar box the number of times I have been dazzled by my wing mirrors due to the lack of the expensive and vulnerable auto dimming and its toxic chemicals. If you need that to feel safe, DON'T LEAVE HOME!
