Just changed the battery in one of my fobs due to the low battery message.

I've swopped it out with a new Energizer and reassembled the fob as per the manual. But its not working. The manual doesn't say anything about repairing the fob and I've stuck it in the passive position (under the charging plate) and started the car but still nothing.

The new Energizer is reading 3.3v on a multi meter, and I've checked the forum and online to see if I'm missing anything but can't find any further steps I'm supposed to take to get it going.

Has anyone any idea's ???

Did you fit the battery the correct way round?

Did you remove any protective films?

Yep everything fitted correctly. No film on the battery but just given it a clean with some alcohol and it's working now 🙄

God knows why but thats ford for you 😆

I've had the same in the past. Any residue is not always easily visible so I now clean the battery as a matter of course.
