Mondeo Mk4 2014 2.2 tdci tit S - Shock absorbers need advice

Featured Replies

Hello guys, I need help with shock absorbers, I wanted to buy pair of new ones from Sachs but found out they don't match my car's part number which is 1741781/1741782 and sachs parts which I wanted to buy is 313 748/313 749 (this is for standart and sport and they also have 313758/313759 which are for standart or police vehicles). Is it compatible or not? Or does anybody know IF KYB is better? Kyb has only one typ of shock absorber for sport and standart, I want to keep my mondeo as it is, love it this way.

Thanks for any kind of advice! Have a nice day. Marek

OEM Standard susp shocks are different rating to Sports suspension shocks. What OEM susp have you on your veh, std or sports

Put your VIN into here and it should only give you parts/part numbers for your veh

https://www.catcar.info/ford/?lang=en

If you don't put your VIN in it will give you all the choices available

To keep the car "right" I would only use genuine parts

@TrevorBWell, part code I gave you is that I wrote above, friend ran my VIN code through ford database, but my concern is price. Genuine parts costs around 250€ per one shock absorber, and sachs or kyb ~50-70€ per shock.

I assume if you put your VIN into Catcar like I suggested it tells you these are the Ford part numbers for your spec veh

1741781/1741782. This tells me you have Sports Suspension on your veh which means they are different rating to standard shocks.

You say sachs parts which you wanted to buy is 313 748/313 749 (this is for standard and sport) So Sachs are using the same part for both standard and sports suspension cars - yes they will fit but they are shocks to cover both models which is not correct if you want to keep the car original. Original standard and sports shocks are different ratings

You said you want to keep the veh "correct" - therefore you need shocks that are the same spec as original Ford Sport Suspension ones

You only get what you pay for!!!!!!!!!!

Ah!!!!

So what you want is the genuine real Ford parts, for the price of the aftermarket Chinese copies 👍
