2013 Fiesta acceleration issue

Featured Replies

Good afternoon everyone.

I have a 2013 1.0 Ecoboost Fiesta (125ps variant). It's had a full service history and no previous issues. As it's just tipped over 10years old I had the timing belt change last month as a preventative measure. Used a local very well reviewed garage and all seemed ok. In the last week or so I have had some issues with acceleration which may be completely unrelated to the work carried out and keeping an open mind.

However, when accelerating within certain parameters the car judders/snatches if that makes sense? So instead of a smooth acceleration it's juddering/jerking till it smooths off again. So if I was doing 40 in 3rd and accelerate to 50/60, or in 4th or 4th going from 50 to 70 it will be noticeable. It's consistent in doing this 70%-ish of the time.

After some testing, the following seems to be the case.

1st and 2nd gear seemed to unaffected.

Accelerating in 3rd/4th and 5th between 2000-3000 revs

The car is booked into the garage for a follow up on Friday, but thought I'd see what people here thought. This might all be a coincidence as I believe issues like this are usually coilpack/HT leads type stuff, but curious as whether it could be related to the timing belt being changed and/or set up incorrectly? As I know the timings have to be set?
