Changed HCV but it's the panel control, Streetka LHD

Featured Replies

Dies anyone have a part number for control panel for Streetka please, LHD?

Are you 100% sure it’s the control panel at fault?

Wow!! Impressed TomsFocus. Thank you very much.

Air con but no heated front (or rear) windscreen. Heated external mirrors I believe, don't ever need to check here on the Costa del Sol!!

I've just changed the HCV as I said, and doesn't blow hot. No clicking at all when turning the cold/hot control.

No worries.  Looks like the Finis number should be 1388619 in that case.  I can't see any for sale on eBay UK, but that's not unusual for LHD parts.  Hopefully you can find one locally.

Tres Bien!

Thanks unofix for the French link. Tried to buy it but they will not send to Spain, or UK. ☹️

Nothing in Spain so far 😪

Hi again, thank you to all for help, but could TomsFocus, or others, please expand on the Control Panel LHD Finis number, as it seems to always come up with the HCV part everywhere I search. Sorry to be a pain, but like all StreetKa owners, one can soon get fed up!!

Something to be aware of for the Rocam engine.
Should the thermostat be removed, part of the thermostat is a relief valve and with this missing (or in the unlikely event of it being stuck open) it stops the flow of coolant to the heater matrix.
Being in Spain, I wouldn't be surprised if the the thermostat had been removed.

The Finis number is the Ford parts catalogue number.

Confusingly, that particular number also happens to be a BMW heater valve in this case, as a complete coincidence!

The panel will also have a manufacturing number on it.  Something like AB12-34567-CD.  But you would need to remove it to look for that number on your existing part.  Unless @unofix knows of a method for finding the manufacturing part number from the Finis number.

Sorry no is the answer.

The Ford finis number will relate to several versions of the same part as time rolls on and new revisions of a part are produced. This is the reason why when ordering a spare part using the finis code you will always get the latest revision.

Ford finis 1388619  is the correct part for your car, but unfortunately that number is also used by BMW and Peugeot for two completely different parts.

Shouldn’t be too difficult to remove. Probably looks and reads something like this.

Just looked further in to this and it seems that the LHD and RHD units are the same except for the bezel which can be removed and swapped over.

Get the point, but I'm wondering how the white unit is fixed to the back of the panel. If it's fixed by plastic mouldings I doubt whether it would be re-usable, and I don't believe that any amount of superglue would be appropriate.

I did this kind of thing (changed front panel which was screwed)when I purchased a used 6 CD changer/radio RHD, and changed the front panel for my one from my LHD model 👍

UPDATE, for anyone still interested!! The HCV change has miraculously done the trick, now working absolutely fine. Thank goodness no need to change the Control Panel (or even find the part!). Thanks for all your help. Cheers

I was pulling hair out over mine. I was convinced it was the panel and after buying one, realised it was not the problem. The pattern part HCV’s are absolutely dreadful. I have Febi Bilstein and Borg & Beck items that both failed after 2-3 months. one defaulted to hot air only and the other would stick intermittently. I found it hard to believe after fitting new items that they could possibly be at fault. But on both, clear signs of rust and moisture in the solenoid. Genuine Ford items are now around £100 if you can find them, even the same Genuine Mazda ones are about £75 and I really don’t know how good they are. I now have a used Genuine Ford item that was fitted 3 months ago and seems OK but I am reluctant to change the setting from cold! No doubt I shall be replacing it again by Winter.

I purchased the most expensive available on AutoDoc at 34.40€, plus postage: ERA663007.

What I did have trouble with was I found out after trying to fit it a couple of times, is that you remove the rubber housing that goes to the "bulkhead", for the housing, THEN fit the valve. Easy peezy after that.
