Mk4 petrol fuel pipe leak.

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

I have a MK4 Mondeo petrol that's has a leak on a fuel pipe. I've marked in the photo.

I'm struggling to find a replacement pipe. I've found a kit which appears to be all the pipes for £260 but I wondered if I can buy just the one pipe.

It's not a long pipe with coupler on one end, and push over a metal pipe the other end.

Thanks

Could be this one, but worth double checking with your reg before purchase.

I think its this one. Matches your link @TomsFocus

However I'm not having much luck finding a way to check to be 100% sure.

It's saying it is so I guess that's good enough.

Ford couldn't find it on system and quoted for the entire lot of pipes that's £269, but I'm sure I can just buy the one required.

I've been looking for a supplier I can ask to check it's correct one but no luck there either. They all want you to buy first and I'm not doing that.

I might phone other ford dealers next week to see if I can get an answer.

Unfortunately nothing on pipe relating to part number.

Asking a Ford dealer to check the number using your reg should be the most effective way to confirm.

If they couldn't find it on their system, the only options left are to try other dealers, or send a message to the ebay seller.

Yeah. I'll message the eBay seller..

Thanks.

In fairness to ford guy he was new. Also no part number on pipe didn't help.

Looks like I need a specific tool to remove push fit metal end. Anyone know anything about that!

Since you are only going to be doing this once or twice then just use the plastic "DIY" tools for under £5. The professional metal tools are about £50

Example of what you need:

Hi Wayne, did you purchase from either of the eBay or Ford links above and if so, did it fit?   Would it be possible to just replace the section of damaged hose with some stock hose and jubilee clips? Thanks.

Who knows, Wayne never did bother to reply to my post. Yes they fit.

Many thanks.
