DAB Radio not working

Featured Replies

Hi All, I have a 2017 fiesta with sync 1.1 (non Sony). My DAB has never worked properly and am looking for some advice to rectify this. I have no option or button to rescan it and so have just pressed the forward or back button which scans. The stations never appear and “DAB not available” message shows. Rarely the stations may appear when stationary but go again when I move. This happens on both DAB1 and 2. Has this happened to anyone before and is there a solution?

thanks

What version of Fiesta do you have, Mk7.5 or Mk8 ?

You may have a DAB aerial amp/isolator fault or you have a radio that only has DAB and not DAB+

I have a 7.5. How would I be able to tell if my radio is DAB+, car is a 2017 model so not sure?

Are the DAB aerial amps etc easy to diagnose?

thanks for the advice

A good question and the answer is I don't know. The Sony radio in the Fiesta Mk7.5 does receive DAB+

Perhaps @alexp999 might be able to offer you an answer.

The aerial amp/isolator is located in the very top edge of the tailgate just under the trim panel. Just unplug and unscrew, very quick and easy to change.

Some national stations only broadcast on DAB+.  Radio X for example.  That's probably the best way to tell if you have it or not.

I thought about suggesting that but, if the aerial Amp/isolator is faulty then the OP may not get DAB+ stations even if their radio could receive them.
