TPMS Replacement

Featured Replies

Hi I need to replace my TPMS sensors, and I spoke to a local tyre fitter and he advised me to buy the pre-programmed ones off the internet and he will fit them. I have had a look and not sure which is the best brand to buy or where from. One local fitter quoted £84 per sensor to be programmed and fitted.

You can buy a pack of four ford sensors off eBay for £20, a ford tpms program dongle off eBay or Amazon (I think they are about £7) follow the video I have put a link on my reply, to get it into program mode and program the sensors, I had to do something similar when changing the wheels on my old focus which I have since sold to my dad.

Once you did this in the video, do you just fit them to the wheels and that is it?

They have to be fitted inside of the tyre.

Hi I am having issues, I have got it into learn mode but when I put the tool against the sensor nothing happens and the horn doesn't beep. I have tried this with all 4 sensors without any luck and then it times out and asks me to restart it

Are you using the EL50449 training tool ?

it is the EL50448, is that the wrong one?

Then perhaps it also does some Fords.

Where are the old sensors, they weren't all faulty were they ? Try using the training tool to re-learn some of the old sensors and see if you get the confirmation 'beep'

Didn't get the beep on the old sensors either so have ordered the one from amazon that you linked and hopefully that works

Won't FORScan relearn them?

Forscan can't produce a radio signal.

All forscan will do is put it learn mode but as @TomsFocus says, that's no help if the sensors are in standby (aka not transmitting anything)
