Squeking/creaking noise.

Featured Replies

I’m new to the forum and looking for some advice. I’ve been experiencing an issue with my Ford Fiesta’s (factory date 2015 model, mk7?) suspension, t’s been making a creaking noise. I notice it most when driving over speed bumps, but it’s also faintly audible on uneven roads.

I’ve already greased all the rubber components I could see, but the problem persists. I’ve attached a video with the sound for reference.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Could it be something like the bushings, shocks, or something else I’m overlooking? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Usually rear axle bushes on these.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it is comming from the front, put my head out the window to listen, also is is most hearable when I go off a speedbump and when the front wheels 'hit the road' again.

Front anti-roll bar bushes most likely if front.

Sounds awful on the video so hard to detect where it's from.  Potentially a knackered strut top mount if more one side than the other.

Agree with tomsfocus

Front anti roll bar bushes

O pig to change on my 1.6d 2009 so sprayed with wd40 and 24 hours to get quieter then 72 hours to disappear but returned 6 months later so repeat

You can get to them with full lock and a wd40 nozzle without raising the car

I've had a similar problem with the front anti roll bar bushes. I sprayed them with a silicon spray and it cured the problem.

Fixed! It was indeed the front bushes of the anti-roll bar. I removed them, cleaned them, and applied a bit of grease. The noise is now gone. Thanks for the tips!

It's surprising that such a loud noise, which sounded like half the suspension collapsing over a speed bump, could come from just some rubber bushes.

How did you get them off?

Got the same noise coming from our 10 plate Fiesta now, only on the lefthand side though, defo' is the bushes and heard blasting the bush with silicone spray cures the issue for a while but many renew the bush, there's this youtube clip which gives you an idea how to change.....

Looks easy as this was done on a ramp and he had correct tools and no sausage fingers...imagine doing on your back on ramps..it is harder than the video (well was on my 1.6d)

Was gonna say that I don't have some fat friends...but I do

Also do you grease or not..different people say different things

I did and all well

Just to throw another idea in. We had creaks/squeaks from.our Mk 1 Ka which has a similar set up. Loudest (very!) in dry weather, quieter when wet. Bushes in the front suspension wishbone arm were the culprit.
