Hi, I have a 2012 fiesta zetec s  and have had battey light on for a couple of weeks  , changed the usual suspects (alternator battery ) but the problem got worse 

lights , heated screens , interior lights , headlights intermittently stop working at different times  has anyone had similar problem  ?

    Normally it a broken or corroded wire, in or very near the Smart plug for the alternator.

    Unplug the smart charge connector from the alternator. It usually has two (sometimes 3) small wires. These control the alternators charging.

    update to my problem , found someone who would plug my car in ( most wouldn't because the management light wasn't on and said their machines wouldn't pick anything up)  turns out body control module is knackered .

    priced a new one from ford £444 and then would have to have it updated to the car , so decided to go second hand , bought one from ebay as local breakers can't keep them on the shelves , found one exactly the same as mine so  sent for it , when it came  the model number was the same apart from the the last two letters (mine was EJ the one i bought was EF) ,wrote the existing BCM programme but when I tried it the aircon , door locks wouldn't work took it back out and discovered different pin configuration in the grey plug  so had to buy another one so waiting for that to be delivered
